  27. Quite a problem... Well, first, I read in a newsgroup that there was a
  28. possibility of getting at maximum 800x512 noninterlaced (Super72), and
  29. that a driver was out on Aminet.

  31. I checked it out today: it's 2 k big, and the name is Super72-V2.lha.

  33. It contains just a new info file (Super72.info) to be copied in
  34. Devs:monitors, and a new overscan.prefs, and a readme.

  36. So, I tried it out, and I get indeed 800x512 - but INTERLACED; 48 Hz. But
  37. as I have a new Super72 driver, who gives 800x600 interlaced 84 Hz, it MUST
  38. be possible to get 800x512 noninterlaced. I suspect the archive we're
  39. talking about is faulty... something is wrong there! Someone set the
  40. interlaced flag or something...

  42. But you can get Super72 800x600 interlaced @ 84 Hz - that's already a big
  43. improvement over 72 Hz. You can find it on Aminet (the name is - I think
  44. 1942... in reference to the C= 1942 monitor).
